A WALK TO REMEMBER…

We had a great time while Albi’s mom was in town. She was a big help and Liv finally got to meet her Nani! Since the sun was out on her last day in Cali. We decided to show Miza where Albi and I got married.

Three years ago we had a small wedding on the bluffs in Malibu. A few members of our family and close friends were able to join us in celebrating our relationship. It was a beautiful ceremony that I will always remember. We hadn’t been back since and this time we got to bring our newest addition in the family.

Afterwards, we went to one of our favorite Japanese BBQ restaurants called Gyu-Kaku. Miza loved the food! My favorite are the garlic noodles. There are multiple locations in Los Angelss, but if you’re in the valley. I’d recommend the Burbank location. We normally would go to the one in Sherman Oaks, but the parking and the restaurant can get a bit cramped…

The day turned out to be one for the books. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the company was enjoyable and Liviana was a good girl!

If you’re looking for a breathtaking wedding location. I highly recommmend Malibu Bluffs Park. We found the spot hiking and fell in love. Plus, it was free and you can’t beat that!

OUR BABY SHOWER

We recently had our baby shower in Texas this past weekend. It was a wonderful trip, one of my favorites in a while. We were showered with tons of love, advice, gifts and lets not forget…food!! I let Liviana have her first tastes of many things that weekend. Also, I didn’t plan on checking a bag, but that changed when it’s actually cheaper than shipping. There are still a few things we will need, but will purchase those at a later time.

How adorable are these decorations? I loved how majority of everything is handmade. Less is more is my motto 🙂 My older sister, Venice [marimacdesigns] put together the canvas and partnered with a fellow Etsy seller [bakerblossoms] for the felt flower creations. The succulents were a great touch as thank you gifts, you can order them here. and the cupcakes were delicious: lemon, strawberry and red velvet made by Arley’s Cakes located in Lufkin.

We chose to have a co-ed shower because it was the best way to get to see everyone all at once. It may not be the ‘norm’ but we are far from that because being normal sucks! I loved our shower, it was laid-back and carefree. Everyone was mingling, eating and having fun! Big thank you to everyone that took time out of their schedules to visit with us and shower us with all the love, support and laughter we could have hoped for, we truly love each and every one of y’all!

We decided to drove up to Sonoma Valley and San Francisco for the weekend to visit our friends and meet their beaus. We stayed on a vineyard in an adorable farmhouse. And we got to see places and do things that we could check off our bucket list. Also, I must mention that I took a pregnancy test a week before this trip and it was negative. I wanted to make sure it was okay to drink all the wine my heart desired.

Fast forward to Monday, March 28th. I woke up feeling odd…my breast were a bit tender and swollen and my period was a few days late. So, I decided what the heck, I’ll just take a test. I dipped the test strip in my urine and hopped into the shower. After my shower, I dried off my face and immediately noticed those two red lines, I didn’t even have my contacts on yet. I can remember thinking, “No way!…whaaaaaaat?? Should I tell Albi now or later when it’s confirmed with a doctor? Screw it! He should know now, but he’s still sleeping…should I wake him…Albi! Albi! I’m pregnant!! There are two lines this time!!”

He wanted to know if I took the right test and if I did it correctly. So, I took two more and they were positive!! I went to the bedroom and we hugged, kissed and smiled at each other after the news. We couldn’t believe it. I scheduled an appointment at the clinic. The day of the appointment I had to take two pregnancy test, because they both came back negative…my heart sank. But, we both knew that I was pregnant because I took a test at home before the appointment and it was positive…

So, I make another appointment, but with my gyno and ask for a blood test. When I get there they question my reasoning for a blood test. They suggest I take a regular pregnancy test first. After the the test I go back to the waiting room. Then the nurse calls my name and ask why I wanted a blood test? I tell her my reason and she replies, “Well, there is no need for a blood test. The tech probably didn’t know what he was doing or the strips were old in that department, because you’re pregnant!” I was over the moon with joy and text Albi 🙂

I wanted to be mad…how could someone be employed in the medical field be so incompetent? But, I brushed it off because I was too happy.
